Cross Stitch Borders

Cross stitch borders are simple repetitive shapes that build up into a larger project. They are easy and satisfying to sew and have many sensible uses and can be used to decorate baby blankets, bed linen, towels, soft furnishings or simply used as elegant pictures.

With our borders it is easy to cover large areas without the project taking years to complete. Generally they have a very simple set of colours, use full cross stitch only and minimal backstitch. They can be extended and reduced where necessary by printing out extra pages and a little tape or cutting out parts not required.

For a charming flower design see our Victorian cross stitch. Here the blue Forget-me-not flowers with bright yellow centres creates a wavy leaf pattern that can be sewn, either as a simple strip on an Aida band or as a beautiful square design.

In stark contrast is our Celtic cross stitch patterns , where the design resembles a bold geometric twisted shape suitable for furnishings in a contemporary setting. Any colours can be used for this simple design and is presented as suitable for a 2 inch strip or as a full square chart.
